James Middleton Disputes Harry’s Claim of William’s Cold Reaction to Meghan

Warm Encounter with Waleses Contradicts Harry’s Depiction of Awkward First Meeting

James Middleton has raised doubts about Harry’s claim that Prince William was uncomfortable around Meghan, sharing a contrasting account of his wife Alizee’s first meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales. James’s recollection of a friendly and relaxed introduction highlights a different side to the royal dynamics, challenging Harry’s portrayal of William as “freaked out” by hugging strangers.

In his upcoming memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James reveals personal struggles with depression and how his dog, Ella, played a crucial role in his recovery. Among the anecdotes shared in the book, he recalls a charming story from autumn 2018 when he and Alizee stayed at his family’s home in Bucklebury, unaware that the Waleses were also visiting.

The couple was awakened early by the laughter of Prince George and Princess Charlotte outside their bedroom door. Alizee, dressed casually in one of James’s shirts, greeted Catherine and William with warmth and ease, creating an instant rapport. “There was no awkwardness at all,” James noted, describing how they quickly settled into friendly conversations and laughter, with the children eagerly asking questions about Alizee.

This depiction contrasts sharply with Harry’s earlier description of William’s reaction to Meghan, casting new light on the relationships within the family. As James’s memoir approaches its release on September 25, his story adds another dimension to the ongoing discourse about the Sussexes and their interactions with the royal family.
