James Middleton Hints at Expanding Family with More Rescue Dogs

Princess of Wales’s Brother Shares Plans to Welcome New Canine Members

James Middleton, the younger brother of the Princess of Wales, has shared his desire to expand his family—not just with children but also by adopting more rescue dogs.

Already a proud father to his son, Inigo, with wife Alizée Thevenet, James is also a dedicated dog lover, with six canines named Zulu, Inka, Luna, Mabel, Nala, and Isla. As an ambassador for Dogs Trust, James revealed his intention to welcome more rescue dogs into his life when the time is right, saying, "It's such an honour" and expressing his eagerness to "welcome many a rescue dog" in the future.

James has also been a source of strength for his sister, Catherine, during her recent cancer battle. He gifted her a dog named Orla, who played a vital role in her recovery. Orla was even featured in Catherine’s video message announcing the end of her chemotherapy.

Reflecting on the support dogs can provide, James shared, "I know how much the dogs, for me, have helped in taking your mind off something. So I'm certain that for them, Orla is doing her job in supporting her family."

In his new book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James recalls the moment when he and his sister Pippa learned about Catherine’s engagement to Prince William. He described a shared commitment among the siblings to support one another through all of life’s challenges, stating, "We make a quiet acknowledgement that we’ll always be there for each other, no matter how crazy things get."
