King Charles and Prince Andrew’s Feud Takes Unexpected Turn as Duchess of York Steps In

Sarah Ferguson Poised to Play Peacemaker Amid Tensions Over Royal Lodge

The strained relationship between King Charles III and Prince Andrew has taken a surprising twist, with the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, potentially stepping in as a mediator to ease tensions.

The feud, which has been simmering since Prince Andrew’s controversial Newsnight interview about his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, escalated over the Duke's continued residence at the 30-room Royal Lodge on the Windsor Park estate. Despite King Charles’ reported desire to move Andrew into smaller accommodations and end private funding for his security, Andrew’s long-term lease prevents any legal eviction.

According to Charlotte Griffiths from the Mail on Sunday, Sarah Ferguson, who still lives at Royal Lodge with Andrew, could play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the feuding brothers. Ferguson’s improving relationship with the King may position her as a key figure in resolving the ongoing dispute.

“It’s in Fergie and her daughters’ interest for Andrew to keep this grand house,” Griffiths noted, hinting that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie could one day inherit the lease. Ferguson’s evolving rapport with King Charles suggests she could act as a “mediator” in the conflict, potentially bringing peace to a tense situation that has long troubled the royal family.
