Following his recovery from cancer treatment, King Charles has returned to royal duties, but any hopes for Prince Harry's return to the royal fold appear distant. Despite early reports suggesting Harry might temporarily take on royal duties during his father's illness, sources later confirmed that no such role would be offered to him.
King Charles, 75, has remained mostly silent amid public criticism from Harry, including accusations in his memoir Spare and the couple's Netflix series. However, during a visit to the University of East London, the King offered a rare, emotional response when asked about Harry’s return. A well-wisher called out, "Bring back Harry, please," to which Charles hesitantly replied, "It would be nice," before quickly moving on.
While their relationship has been strained, recent reports indicate that Charles and Harry have shared several "warm exchanges" since the King's diagnosis, with Charles expressing a desire to reconcile. Harry, during a US interview, hinted that his father’s health could serve as a catalyst for family unity, stating, "Any illness brings families together."
Despite ongoing tensions, Harry has expressed love for his family and hinted at future visits to see his father as he navigates his own path outside royal life.
