Meghan Criticised for Ill-Timed Speech During Royal Mourning
Meghan Markle has reportedly upset the royal family with what many consider a "dreadful" decision on the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. The Duchess of Sussex attended Oprah Winfrey’s book club event in California, where she delivered a speech about entering a "joyful" chapter of her life.
Meghan remarked, "I’m looking at this time as my chapter of joy... you have to be grateful for all aspects of your life," but her appearance coincided with King Charles’ emotional day of mourning for his late mother.
Royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliam told GB News that Meghan’s choice of venue was "absolutely dreadful" and noted the poor timing, especially considering her past controversial interview with Oprah. Fitzwilliam added, "It was a tasteless decision on a day that held deep significance for the royal family."
Royal fans also voiced their displeasure, viewing Meghan's appearance as mocking the grieving family during such a sorrowful occasion.
