Tensions Rise as Monarch Seeks Resolution Amid Financial and Security Concerns
King Charles is reportedly growing increasingly exasperated with his younger brother, Prince Andrew, over unresolved issues regarding his living arrangements. Despite stepping down from royal duties five years ago, the Duke of York continues to reside at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
With the Home Office revoking Andrew's security, King Charles has taken on the financial burden of providing his protection, costing an estimated £3 million annually, in addition to a living allowance. Now, at 75, the King is keen to resolve the situation, with two options on the table. One would see Andrew responsible for his own security and income, though this seems improbable given his limited finances. The more likely scenario involves relocating Andrew to Frogmore Cottage, previously home to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which would maintain his security within Windsor.
A source noted, "It is now two years into the King’s reign, and he wants the matter settled."
