Prince Andrew tests King Charles’ patience as monarch moves to tighten eviction plans.
Prince Andrew is reportedly pushing King Charles to his limit, as the monarch prepares to take decisive action against his disgraced brother. Since last year, Charles has been trying to remove Andrew from Royal Lodge after stripping him of his royal titles and patronages.
The battle over the 30-room estate intensified last month when Charles cut off Andrew’s security detail. Now, sources reveal that the King is ready to escalate the situation further, expediting the eviction process. A Palace insider told The Times that Charles' patience is "running thin," as Andrew has been slow to "recognise the reality of the situation."
Andrew, who lives with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson at Royal Lodge, has faced widespread criticism for his ties to convicted trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and accusations of sexual assault. Despite this, the Duke of York has resisted Charles’ attempts to force him out, with sources claiming the monarch is determined to speed up the process, "whether Andrew likes it or not."
Royal photographer Jim Bennett referred to Andrew’s defiance as “idiotic,” citing his lack of judgment in dealing with the situation. Reports suggest that Andrew will be moved to Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
While there were suggestions that Andrew could move to Ferguson’s Mayfair home, royal commentator Gareth Russell explained that security concerns make that option unlikely. “Relocating someone as controversial as Prince Andrew to central London without significant security is not feasible,” Russell told GB News. “It also raises the issue of protecting Andrew without burdening the taxpayer.”
