King Charles Recalls Heartbreaking Moment After Losing Close Friend
King Charles is deeply saddened by the loss of his close friend, Kiingi Tuheitia, who passed away in New Zealand at the age of 69, just weeks after their last phone conversation. The Maori King had visited the monarch and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace in 2023, and his sudden passing has left the 75-year-old King in shock.
King Charles, who is currently recovering from heart surgery, shared his heartbreak in a statement, revealing that he had spoken with Tuheitia earlier this month. The King, who is also battling cancer, is said to be coping with the loss while reflecting on their final conversation.
In his statement, the King expressed his sorrow: "His death is a particular shock in view of the fact that I had only very recently spoken to Kiingi on the telephone at the beginning of August."
