King Charles was reportedly left surprised by Prince Andrew’s unexpected comments during his infamous Newsnight interview, according to renowned TV presenter Emily Maitlis.
Maitlis, who conducted the interview with Andrew regarding his controversial friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, recently revealed the King’s reaction. She shared that Charles’ response, conveyed cryptically by a close aide, has stayed with her ever since: “HRH was not unhappy with the interview.”
The interview, which sparked widespread public outcry, led to significant consequences for Andrew, including the loss of his royal duties and privileges. "It became much more difficult for him within the Royal Family," Maitlis noted, adding that Andrew’s place in the public eye and the respect of the nation was severely diminished.
