King Charles Shares Health Update Ahead of Upcoming Australia Trip

The monarch reveals "doctor's orders" as he cancels New Zealand visit but remains set for Australian tour.

King Charles has broken his silence regarding his health, sharing important details ahead of his planned foreign engagements. The 75-year-old monarch, who has been cleared by doctors to travel to Australia, provided a rare update during a meeting with New Zealand's women’s rugby team at Buckingham Palace.

During the event, Charles expressed regret over not being able to visit New Zealand in October due to “doctor’s orders.” This marks the first time the King has spoken publicly about his health since Princess Catherine revealed she is no longer undergoing chemotherapy.

The King, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in early 2024, reassured the team that he hopes for another opportunity to visit New Zealand soon. Despite health concerns, Buckingham Palace has confirmed the King and Queen Camilla’s upcoming tour of Australia and Samoa, set to begin on October 18.

In a lighthearted moment with the rugby team, King Charles reflected on the passage of time, urging the athletes to make the most of their youth before wishing them success in their future matches.
