King Charles Shares Uplifting Message During Royal Navy Visit Amid Prince Harry’s Upcoming Return

Monarch Praises Service Members in First Visit to Scottish Base as Head of Armed Forces

Buckingham Palace has released a new video of King Charles expressing his gratitude to Royal Navy personnel during a visit to the Royal Naval Armaments Depot (RNAD) at Coulport, part of HM Naval Base Clyde.

The 75-year-old monarch, who appeared in high spirits, met with several senior ranking members of the Royal Navy to thank them and their families for their service in nuclear deterrence. This visit comes shortly after Prince Harry announced his return to the UK next week, raising hopes for a potential reconciliation.

The Palace shared the video on the royal family’s social media, with a caption highlighting the King’s appreciation: “His Majesty paid a visit to @royalnavy crew members stationed in Scotland yesterday to thank them and their families for their service.”

During the visit, King Charles received a warm welcome from First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key and was honoured with a royal salute. This marks the first time the King has visited the base as head of the armed forces, though he previously toured the site in 2011 and 2013 as the Prince of Wales.

The King’s positive engagement with the Navy underscores his commitment to supporting the armed forces and maintaining strong ties with military personnel as the head of the armed forces.
