Duchess of Sussex Prefers Harry Move Forward, Away from Royal Aspirations
Meghan Markle is reportedly urging Prince Harry to shift his focus from royal ambitions and concentrate on their life in California, according to GB News' Digital Royal Editor.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, currently reside in Montecito with their children, Archie and Lilibet. As Prince Harry approaches his 40th birthday, speculation has emerged that he may be contemplating a fresh start in the UK, particularly in light of King Charles' recent health issues.
However, Meghan is said to prefer that Harry remains focused on their life in the US, rather than pursuing any potential royal roles. GB News' Digital Royal Editor, Svar Nanan-Sen, discussed this perspective with Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker on the latest episode of The Royal Record.
Cameron remarked, “Reports suggest Meghan wants Harry to move forward and not dwell on past grievances as he reaches the midpoint of his life. It’s about what’s next for him.”
Svar agreed, highlighting Harry’s enjoyment of fatherhood and his ongoing projects. “Harry has a young family in the US and is actively involved in initiatives like the Invictus Games. The next Games are set for Vancouver in 2025, with another planned for Birmingham in 2027.”
Despite leaving the royal family, the Duke of Sussex continues to work on the Invictus Games, an event he founded in 2014. He is also preparing for a trip to New York to advance various patronages and philanthropic efforts.
Svar noted, “Meghan wants Harry to focus on their current life and future projects, moving away from any royal roles. They stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and have not pursued a part-time role, so Meghan's focus is on their life in the US.”
