Duchess Feels Marginalised as Palace Shares Cropped Photo of Harry
Meghan Markle is said to be extremely upset after being excluded from a birthday tribute shared by the Royal Family for Harry, according to sources.
On September 15, Harry turned 40, receiving public birthday wishes from King Charles' official social media account and from the Prince and Princess of Wales on X (formerly known as Twitter). The Royal Family’s post featured a solo image of Harry, though the original photo included Meghan by his side. This editing choice has raised questions about Meghan’s position within the Royal Family, particularly after her outspoken criticism of the institution in recent years.
While some see the gesture as an olive branch extended to Harry, others interpret it as a sign that Meghan is no longer a priority. The Prince and Princess of Wales also shared a birthday message for Harry a few hours later, using another solo image, which has reportedly left Meghan feeling sidelined.
A source told Heat magazine, “Meghan is happy for Harry because she knows how much this means to him, but she’s understandably upset as well. She feels the message being sent is that the Royal Family is ready to welcome Harry back, but not her.”
Meghan, who has not interacted with senior royals since 2022, is reportedly frustrated by what she sees as a symbolic snub and is determined not to be excluded in this manner again.
