Disgraced Royal Faces Renewed Humiliation as Conflict with King Charles Escalates
Prince Andrew’s troubles continue to mount as he faces multiple setbacks, including an escalating row with King Charles over the Royal Lodge.
The disgraced royal, who was stripped of his titles and patronages due to a s*x scandal, has been mocked again in a new Amazon Prime series. According to a former Buckingham Palace staffer, current and former employees are reportedly “thrilled” by the series’ portrayal of Andrew as a foul-mouthed bully.
The ex-staffer, who previously worked for Andrew, told The Daily Beast that Palace staff who endured his “petulant, rude, and inconsiderate behaviour” are experiencing a sense of vindication. “Some felt he got off lightly before, but Amazon seems to have truly exposed him this time,” the source stated.
The series, executive produced by Emily Maitlis, delves into the events surrounding Andrew’s infamous 2019 Newsnight interview, which led to his downfall. This comes after Netflix’s Scoop, based on Sam McAlister’s memoir, which also explored the controversial interview.
Meanwhile, Andrew is embroiled in a tense dispute with King Charles over his refusal to vacate the Royal Lodge. The King is reportedly losing patience with his brother’s defiance and is determined to resolve the issue “tidily or untidily” if Andrew continues to resist eviction.
Following the disastrous 2019 interview, Andrew stepped down as a working royal after his ties with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein were exposed. He also faced allegations of inappropriate conduct with a minor, which he eventually settled in court without admitting guilt.
