Prince Andrew Resolves to Stay at Royal Lodge as King Charles Pressures Him to Leave

King Charles Escalates Efforts to Remove Prince Andrew from Royal Residence

Prince Andrew has reportedly made a firm decision to remain at Royal Lodge, despite escalating efforts from his elder brother, King Charles, to have him vacate the property. The ongoing feud between the brothers has intensified as the 75-year-old monarch pushes for the Duke of York to move into a smaller residence, with Frogmore Cottage, formerly occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, being suggested as an alternative.

However, Prince Andrew, who signed a lease in 2003 granting him over five decades of residence at the 30-room mansion, is reportedly refusing to leave. According to insiders, Andrew has a plan to outlast his brother, given the age difference between them, and is determined to stay put.

"Andrew can sit tight and run out the clock. He wants his brother to live long and prosper, but he’s also aware that he is more than a decade younger than Charles," a source told the Daily Beast, suggesting that Andrew's strategy is to wait out the situation.

Friends of Prince Andrew are puzzled by King Charles's insistence on forcing the move, with some viewing it as "childish and vindictive." They believe the broader public is unlikely to care where Andrew lives, making the dispute seem unnecessary.

In a move that has further strained relations, King Charles has already taken steps to escalate the situation by removing the ten-man private security team assigned to Royal Lodge. A source close to the monarch indicated that this is just the beginning, with financial support potentially being cut off if Andrew continues to resist.

"It’s Andrew’s choice how this goes. Charles is the king, and if he wants Andrew gone, Andrew will be gone in the end," a friend of the monarch stated.

A former courtier commented on the growing public spectacle of the dispute, noting, "The whole thing is a mess and arguing about it publicly is not helping the King. Ultimately, Andrew will have to be given something to surrender the lease."
