Prince Edward Joins Prince Albert in Monaco as Lady Louise Begins University Term

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Engagements Highlight Royal Family's Global Commitment

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, has embarked on an international visit to Monaco, coinciding with his daughter Lady Louise Windsor’s return to university in Scotland.

The Duke, 60, arrived in Nice earlier this week as part of his role as Chairman of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, a charitable initiative established by his late father, Prince Philip, in 1956. During his visit, he attended a dinner at the Stelios Foundation Conference Hall, raising £85,000 for the charity, and visited institutions such as the International School of Monaco and St Paul's Anglican Church.

He also attended a reception hosted by Prince Albert at the Yacht Club de Monaco, showcasing the Royal Family's continued engagement with global philanthropic efforts.

Meanwhile, Lady Louise, 20, has returned to the University of St Andrews to begin her third year studying English. Over the summer, she participated in several carriage driving competitions, continuing her passion alongside her academic pursuits.

The Duke’s wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has also been active internationally. She recently visited Tanzania as a Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, delivering a message from King Charles. The couple is set to continue their overseas engagements with an upcoming visit to Malta, a place of personal and historical significance to the Royal Family.
