Young Royals Display Affection Toward King Charles and Queen Camilla, Refuting Meghan’s ‘Jarring’ Accusations
Prince George and Princess Charlotte have seemingly dispelled one of Meghan Markle’s claims about the royal family with a touching gesture. During a public event, the young royals were seen showing affection toward their grandfather, King Charles, and step-grandmother, Queen Camilla, contradicting Meghan’s remarks about the formality within the family.
Meghan, who along with Prince Harry stepped down from senior royal duties in 2020, previously expressed surprise at the continued formality behind the scenes within the royal family. She described her initial meeting with Catherine and Prince William as “jarring,” noting that her natural warmth and habit of hugging contrasted with the family's reserved behaviour.
However, royal expert Chris Ship observed a different story when Prince George and Princess Charlotte publicly hugged their grandfather at a family Christmas concert hosted by Catherine before her cancer diagnosis. Ship commented on the displays of affection, suggesting that the Sussexes’ portrayal of the family as distant and formal might not reflect the full picture.
Meghan’s claims, made during her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries, are now being questioned as the young royal children continue to demonstrate warmth and unity within the family.
