Sussexes Deny Claims Regarding Archewell Foundation’s Financial Transparency
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have addressed recent allegations concerning their Archewell Foundation’s financial records, following claims that the charity failed to accurately report its tax returns. According to MailOnline, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not listed on the charity's most recent 990 tax form, despite reports of two grants totalling over £4.5 million ($6 million) being received in the past two years.
In response, Archewell Foundation clarified that all records are accurate, noting that $2,000,911 was declared in the latest tax return, with the remaining funds to be reflected in the next filing. An insider described the accusations as unfair and misleading, emphasising that the Sussexes have always been transparent with their finances.
This controversy surfaced just ahead of Harry’s anticipated visit to the UK for the 2024 WellChild Awards, sparking further media attention.
