Sussexes Face Fresh Criticism Amid Claims of Difficult Work Environment
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at the centre of a new controversy after being accused of poor management and difficult behaviour by former staff members.
A recent article in The Hollywood Reporter branded the Duchess of Sussex as a “dictator in high heels,” sparking backlash against the couple’s leadership at their non-profit organization, Archewell.
In response, the Sussexes’ PR team denounced the allegations as fabricated and based on misinformation. “The Duke and Duchess work from Montecito, while we’re based in Hollywood. The claims are unfounded and impossible given the logistics,” stated a spokesperson.
However, questions have been raised about why Meghan’s influential Hollywood agent, Ari Emmanuel, couldn’t prevent the damaging piece from being published. A senior publicist told Daily Mail: “It’s surprising WME didn’t block this story. They’re usually very protective of their clients.”
The Sussexes have faced ongoing scrutiny over their high turnover rate, losing 18 senior staff members since their 2018 marriage. Their most recent departure was Harry’s chief of staff, Josh Kettler, who left after just three months on the job.
