Prince Harry has reportedly appreciated a surprising gesture from Kate Middleton ahead of his upcoming return to the UK for the WellChild Awards.
Despite ongoing tensions and a lack of communication between Harry and his family, the Duke of Sussex was pleasantly surprised by a public birthday greeting from the Prince and Princess of Wales. Royal expert Jennie Bond suggested that Kate’s effort to maintain civility between the brothers has not gone unnoticed.
“I think Harry would have been pleased,” Bond told OK! Magazine. “Although it’s too soon for a meaningful reconciliation with William, the fact that he and Catherine authorised the greeting is a significant step.”
The birthday message, posted last week, marked a rare public acknowledgment from William and Kate amid the ongoing rift. While a full reconciliation may not be imminent, Bond believes that Kate is gently encouraging her husband to soften towards Harry.
“Landmark birthdays are often a time for reflection,” Bond added. “William may have been doing some re-evaluation himself.”
