Prince Harry Honoured with New Title for Mental Health Advocacy

Duke of Sussex Recognised for Championing Mental Fitness Initiatives

Prince Harry, who recently delivered a powerful speech at the United Nations, has received praise and a new title for his ongoing efforts to promote mental health. The Duke of Sussex, now officially described as a “mental health advocate” on his Sussex.com bio, has been lauded for his impactful work during his recent trip to New York City.

During the first event of his visit on September 23, Harry introduced the term “mental fitness,” a concept he is using to reframe the conversation around mental health. Speaking passionately at the UN, he emphasised the urgency of addressing the global mental health crisis, particularly the rising rates of suicide among young people in Lesotho and worldwide.

“Good mental health, mental fitness, is not a luxury — it is a necessity for every single one of us,” Harry declared, underscoring his belief that mental well-being should be prioritised as much as physical health.

The Duke also called for global action and the courage to openly discuss mental health without fear of judgment, subtly critiquing those in power for not doing enough to tackle the issue.

Harry, who will return to the UK on September 30, continues to advocate for mental health awareness and support, using his platform to break the stigma and encourage conversations that can lead to meaningful change.
