Duke of Sussex Reflects on Strained Relationship and Hopes for Reconciliation
Prince Harry has disclosed that he attempted to ease tensions with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Catherine, prior to his departure for the United States with the Duchess of Sussex.
In newly released footage, Harry shared that the meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales "did not go particularly well," highlighting the escalating strain between him and William, which even led to physical altercations.
"It was a build-up of frustration on his part," Harry explained, attributing some of William's concerns to the influence of the tabloid press.
The Duke of Sussex also claimed that his family was "constantly feeding the British press with lies and misinformation." He emphasised that it wasn't just a matter of leaking information but also of deliberately planting stories to shield certain royals from negative coverage.
Harry expressed heartbreak over seeing William's office engage in such practices, which they had both vowed to avoid. He still holds hope for reconciliation but believes it requires accountability and open dialogue.
The Duke is expected to celebrate his birthday quietly with his family, followed by a private gathering with friends.
