Duke of Sussex to Attend WellChild Awards After Royal Family’s Gesture
Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for the first time since his milestone 40th birthday, which was acknowledged by the royal family on September 15. The Duke of Sussex will attend the 2024 WellChild Awards in London on September 30.
The event, held in association with GSK, aims to raise awareness and provide support for children with serious health conditions and their families. Harry, who has attended the awards 12 times previously, will present the Award for Inspirational Child (aged four to six) and deliver a heartfelt speech.
Ahead of his visit, Harry released a statement expressing his continued commitment to the cause: “I am once again honoured to attend this year’s WellChild Awards, celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs. These incredible young people, along with their dedicated caregivers and professionals, inspire us all.”
Harry’s decision to return to the UK comes after King Charles and the royal family extended a birthday message to him, raising hopes of a possible thaw in relations between the Duke and his family.
