Duke of Sussex Emphasises Healing Through Sport Ahead of Invictus Games
Prince Harry has addressed the public with a heartfelt video message focusing on the power of sport to inspire and heal, shortly after his unexpected reunion with his elder brother, Prince William, in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex's video was released in anticipation of the 2025 Invictus Games, set to take place in Vancouver. In his message, Harry highlighted the transformative impact of sport, stating: "Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives and to save lives. For many of these competitors, reaching the start line has been a monumental challenge. But at the Games, their lives are transformed. Witnessing these extraordinary moments and seeing sport facilitate such change is incredibly special."
This release follows Prince William’s recent appearance at the Saatchi Gallery in London, where he showcased a project aimed at raising awareness about homelessness and the multifaceted nature of the crisis, including aspects of hope. The Prince of Wales made this public outing as his first since the recent family gathering at their uncle’s funeral.
Additionally, Harry has announced that the Invictus Games will return to the UK in 2027, marking a significant event since the inaugural Games were held in London in 2014. Earlier this year, Harry hosted an anniversary event at St Paul's Cathedral to commemorate the Games' legacy.
