Prince Harry, who recently made a discreet trip to the UK for the memorial service of Lord Robert Fellowes, stood mere metres away from his brother, Prince William, without exchanging a single word. The Duke of Sussex, who, along with his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the US, has since been vocal about his experiences within the royal family.
In a poignant admission, Prince Harry revealed that "distance was essential" during his time as a working royal, underscoring the emotional and physical separation he felt from his family. In his explosive memoir, Spare, Harry detailed the strict boundaries imposed within the royal household, stating that he could "never cross that chasm" to be truly close with his family. He even recalled being denied affection as a child, emphasizing that maintaining a buffer zone was considered an "essential bit of being royal."
