Friend Confirms Duke of Sussex Has No Plans for Permanent Royal Return
Prince Harry is unlikely to return to the UK on a permanent basis, according to a close friend. Despite recent rumors of a royal comeback, the Duke of Sussex's life is now firmly rooted in the US, where he has built a new chapter with Meghan Markle and their children.
In a BBC report marking Harry's 40th birthday, senior royal correspondent Daniela Relph highlighted that there is little evidence supporting speculation of Harry's royal return. A friend of the Duke confirmed, "His life is now in America. Why would he give up everything he’s achieved there to return here?"
The report also noted Harry’s ongoing concerns about safety in the UK, especially after losing his police protection upon stepping down from royal duties in 2020. In contrast, Harry and Meghan enjoy a more private, secure life in Montecito, California, where they have their own security team and lead a "relatively normal existence."
The couple's exclusive Montecito residence allows them to avoid the paparazzi intrusion they experienced in London, offering them the freedom to engage in everyday activities like attending local events and taking trips with their children without constant media attention.
