Meghan's business venture stalls after trademark and logo issues arise
Prince Harry’s 40th birthday celebrations have reportedly hit a snag as Meghan Markle faces another setback in her efforts to launch her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. The Duchess of Sussex, who announced the venture in March 2024, recently encountered difficulties when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) denied her trademark application for the brand name.
In addition to the rejection of the name, the USPTO raised concerns over the design of the logo, particularly the stylization of the letter "O" in Orchard, deeming it unrecognizable. The trademark office has requested an amended description of the mark to accurately reflect the logo's design, causing further delays.
This setback comes at an unfortunate time for the couple, as it coincides with Prince Harry’s milestone birthday celebrations. Despite this challenge, Meghan is expected to continue working on her brand relaunch following these unexpected hurdles.
