Prince William and Kate Middleton 'Hurt' by King Charles' Unexpected Summer Decision

King Charles Chooses Solitude Over Family Time During Scotland Retreat

King Charles III has reportedly left Prince William and Kate Middleton feeling "hurt" after choosing to spend his summer break away from them in a surprising decision. The 75-year-old monarch has opted to stay at the smaller Birkhall property, rather than joining the Prince and Princess of Wales at the luxurious Balmoral Castle.

According to reports, King Charles and Queen Camilla have spent most of their holiday at Birkhall, avoiding Balmoral, where the rest of the royal family, including William and Kate, are staying. Insiders suggest that this decision has caused disappointment for the Prince and Princess of Wales, who traveled to Scotland to spend quality time with the King.

A source told The Daily Beast that King Charles is focusing on relaxing activities such as reading, writing, painting, and gardening during his stay at Birkhall, which has been described as his "happy place." The source also noted that the King is spending much of his time resting, which is unusual for him.

Birkhall, a property within the Balmoral Estate, has a long royal history. It was previously the retreat of the late Queen Mother, who received it as a gift from her husband, the future King George VI, in 1930.
