Princess Beatrice and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, have teamed up in New York to advocate against modern slavery and human trafficking during Climate Week. The Princess of Wales’s elder daughter delivered a speech at a luncheon hosted by the Anti-Slavery Collective, a charity co-founded by her sister, while Sarah Ferguson shared her excitement for the event on social media.
Photos of Beatrice were posted on the Anti-Slavery Collective’s Instagram account, highlighting her role in addressing complex global issues alongside influential figures such as former UK Prime Minister Theresa May and representatives from the Global Commission on Modern Slavery.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is also in New York for Climate Week, focusing on his own set of engagements to honour the legacy of his mother, Princess Diana. Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative, the Duke of Sussex criticised social media companies for treating young people as "human experiments" and highlighted his work on mental health through the Archewell Foundation.
While Beatrice and Harry are both active in New York, it remains uncertain whether the cousins have had a chance to reconnect during their separate commitments. Harry is travelling solo for this visit, with Meghan Markle remaining in California.
Sarah Ferguson, who has also taken part in Climate Week activities, expressed her passion for environmental causes, especially as a grandmother, saying, "I feel strongly that my generation has a responsibility to hand a sustainable planet on to our grandchildren."
