Princess Eugenie Breaks Silence Amidst New Prince Andrew Series

Royal Shares Touching Tribute to Late Grandmother Following Release of A Very Royal Scandal

Princess Eugenie has made her first public statement since being drawn into the drama surrounding the new series A Very Royal Scandal, which chronicles Prince Andrew's disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview.

The Amazon Prime series, which premiered today, portrays the Duke of York’s infamous interview and its impact on his family. Despite the renewed scrutiny, Eugenie chose to focus on a personal tribute. Sharing a post on Instagram, she honoured her late grandmother, Susan Barrantes, the mother of Sarah Ferguson.

Eugenie’s heartfelt caption read, “Miss beautiful Granny Susie,” accompanying a message originally posted by her mother. Sarah Ferguson reflected on the anniversary of her mother’s death, writing, “My much-loved mother Susie died 26 years ago today. She was far too young to be taken from us... I miss her greatly.”

Neither Eugenie nor Sarah Ferguson have commented on the series, which features portrayals of both of them as well as Princess Beatrice. Beatrice’s role in the series is significant, showing her attending meetings with Prince Andrew and the Newsnight team, where she is depicted encouraging her father to go through with the interview.

Despite the intense media attention surrounding the series, Eugenie’s focus on family and remembrance has resonated with her followers, highlighting the strength and resilience of the York family amidst ongoing challenges.
