Royal family strengthens cultural ties with Korea amidst growing global K-Pop influence
Princess Eugenie surprised many with her attendance at a K-pop concert in Korea on Monday night, featuring the artist G-Dragon. The 34-year-old, daughter of The Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, attended the event, which was part of the Chanel Culture Fund Frieze Seoul 2024, held at the Leeum Museum of Art.
Wearing a sleeveless Gradient Midi Dress by Peter Pilotto, Eugenie was captured recording the performance on her iPhone, further emphasising her connection to the arts. As an art director for Hauser & Wirth, she may have attended the event in a professional capacity.
Royal fashion followers noted that Eugenie had worn the dress on several occasions since 2019, including during a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award presentation.
Details about whether she travelled alone or with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their two sons, August and Ernest, remain unclear. For the occasion, she kept her look simple with loose curls and a warm-toned smokey eye.
This event followed King Charles's recognition of Blackpink, who received Honorary MBEs in November 2023. Both instances highlight the growing cultural exchange between the British Royal Family and Korea's global K-pop phenomenon.
