Queen Camilla reacts to fan's unusual curtsy during RAF engagement

Weather adds to memorable visit as Queen receives medallion from pilots

Queen Camilla was left visibly perplexed after a royal fan performed an unconventional curtsy during her visit to RAF Leeming on Friday. The Queen, serving as Honorary Air Commodore, experienced the unexpected moment as she extended her hand to greet the fan.

During her visit, Camilla was introduced to members of the 11 Squadron QEAF, responsible for training both RAF and Qatari pilots, and later met specialists in communications and counter-drone defence. A strong wind added a challenge to the day, blowing the Queen's hair out of place as she greeted military personnel and their families.

The Queen received a medallion from Qatari pilots in appreciation of her visit, expressing her gratitude before enjoying a flyover by three Hawk jets. Following the event, Camilla returned to Scotland to reunite with King Charles ahead of the Braemar Games and the second anniversary of his accession.
