Tom Parker Bowles has shared a rare update on his stepfather King Charles’ health amidst the monarch's cancer treatment. During an interview promoting his upcoming book, Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III, Parker Bowles confirmed that the 75-year-old King's treatment is "going well."
He also spoke warmly about his mother, Queen Camilla, saying, “She’s tough, my mother,” as the royal couple prepares for their upcoming trip to Australia and Samoa.
Tom Parker Bowles revealed insights into the King’s eating habits, noting that Charles often skips lunch, opting for a "relaxed" afternoon tea instead. He highlighted the King’s commitment to reducing waste, saying the royal pantry is stocked with seasonal produce from the estates, including game, beef, lamb, and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
The King and Queen are scheduled to visit Australia on October 18 before attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa. Their engagements will highlight themes celebrating the best of both countries and will reflect the King and Queen's ongoing work before their return to the UK on October 26.
