Queen Elizabeth’s Aide Reveals Crucial Update on Duke of Sussex’s Security Case

Royal Protection Officer Explains How Duke of Sussex Could Regain Police Protection

Prince Harry, currently in a legal battle with the UK Home Office over his security arrangements, has been confronted with an uncomfortable reality regarding his ongoing proceedings. The Duke of Sussex and his family lost their royal security privileges after he and the Duchess of Sussex stepped down from senior royal duties. Harry is now challenging the UK government to allow him to fund his own security when visiting the country.

A former protection officer who served Queen Elizabeth has weighed in on the matter, delivering a sobering assessment to the Duke.

“RAVEC, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, has decided that Harry won’t receive protection in the UK, and he’s still contesting this decision,” explained former protection officer Dick Griffin in an interview with The Sun.

Griffin added, “If Harry were to resume a full role within the Royal Family, he would automatically be granted security.”

He also clarified that the UK government remains fully informed of any security risks faced by Harry and would provide protection if necessary.

“The government regularly reviews threat assessments for anyone visiting the UK. If protection is required, it will be provided. Harry’s concerns don’t entirely hold up—had he stayed alongside his father, who has the best security in the country, he wouldn’t have this issue,” Griffin remarked, suggesting that Harry's security concerns might have been overstated.
