Royal Experts Question Catherine's 'Glamorous' Cancer Update Video

Criticism Arises Over Duchess's Approach in Return to Public Duties After Treatment

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, faced criticism from GB News presenter Andrew Pierce for her recent video update on her return to public duties after undergoing chemotherapy. The clip, which featured the Wales family enjoying outdoor time during a trip to Norfolk, was described as "too glitzy" by Pierce, who expressed unease over its Hollywood-like style.

Speaking with royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, Pierce questioned the tone of the video, suggesting it might be too polished. Fitzwilliams, however, defended the approach, noting that the Duchess aimed to connect with young people and spread awareness in an accessible way.

He acknowledged the distinct style of the video, which included slow-motion footage and music, but emphasised that it served a purpose. “It’s a very different approach, but it's deliberate and has sparked discussion,” he said.

The criticism comes as the Royal Family navigates a challenging period with two senior members currently battling cancer. The video has been seen as part of the evolving image of the royals, with Fitzwilliams highlighting that the couple are “doing things their way” and adapting to changing times.
