Expert Urges Future King and Queen to Establish a Permanent Residence in Wales
Prince William and Catherine have been cautioned about potentially defying King Charles by neglecting a significant royal tradition. A royal commentator has advised the couple, who are set to become the future King and Queen of England, to establish a permanent residence in Wales, aligning with the practices of the current Monarch.
During an interview with GB News, Gareth Russell emphasized the importance of the Prince and Princess of Wales maintaining a home in their principality. He noted that a common criticism over the years has been the lack of substantial ties between the titleholders of Prince and Princess of Wales and the region itself, with limited time spent there.
Russell highlighted that Charles had made considerable efforts to counter this tradition, and it would be a "shame and a mistake" if William and Catherine did not follow in his footsteps.
These comments were made as the royal family enjoys their summer break at Balmoral, following a particularly challenging start to the year due to Charles and Catherine's cancer diagnosis.
