Prince Harry Prepared to Forgive Family, but Only After a Sincere Apology
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly seeking a "grovelling apology" from his brother, Prince William, as a prerequisite for any potential reconciliation, according to a royal expert. After more than four years since stepping away from royal duties, Prince Harry is eager to repair relations for the sake of their children.
Despite recent speculation that Harry might return to support the Princess of Wales following her cancer diagnosis, no reunion occurred during his visit to the UK in May. The rift between the two brothers remains, with Harry and Meghan's children, Archie and Lilibet, growing up far from their cousins, the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Royal biographer Tom Quinn suggests that Harry wishes to bridge this gap, especially for the children. However, he insists that an apology from William and Catherine is necessary before any progress can be made.
Quinn revealed that while Harry longs for a closer relationship with his niece and nephews, the prospect of Archie and Lilibet having no bond with their cousins deeply troubles him. He has implied that a family apology would open the door to forgiveness, but such a gesture seems unlikely.
Meanwhile, King Charles is reportedly expecting a similar apology from Harry. Although the King has refrained from publicly criticizing his son, sources indicate that he is privately furious, to the point of refusing Harry’s calls.
Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths has also noted that Meghan Markle has been advocating for an apology, though recent reports suggest she may have abandoned this hope. The situation remains tense, with both sides waiting for a gesture of reconciliation that may never come.
