Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla's son, has finally addressed a long-standing rumour regarding his mother's lifestyle. Before her marriage to King Charles, Camilla was often depicted as a heavy gin drinker and smoker, with reports from palace insiders suggesting she made special requests to support these habits.
Speaking to The Times, Tom debunked these claims, calling them "totally inaccurate." He clarified that his mother has "never drunk a glass of gin in her life" and no longer smokes.
Previous reports, such as one from the Daily Mail, claimed that when Camilla smoked, she had silver cigarette boxes and match holders placed in every room for easy access. Tom believes that this exaggerated image of his mother as a drinker and smoker was largely influenced by Channel 4’s sitcom The Windsors, which perpetuated the misconception.
