Broadcaster Suggests Media Played Major Role in Sussexes' Move to the US
A lively debate erupted on GB News last night as broadcaster Nina Myskow claimed that Meghan Markle was "forced" to leave Britain by both the Royal Family and the media. Myskow argued that the press significantly influenced Meghan and Harry’s decision to relocate to Montecito, California.
However, her statement met opposition on the Mark Dolan Tonight panel. Former News of the World editor Neil Wallis disagreed, asserting that he had never received orders to push a particular agenda regarding the Sussexes.
Myskow stated, “Meghan Markle was bullied out of this country by the Royal Family and the British media.” She noted that, initially, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan had immense public appeal, which she believed rivalled that of William and Catherine.
Wallis, however, dismissed the idea, claiming that the media operated independently. He criticised the notion that the Palace controlled media narratives about Harry and Meghan, calling it "nonsense."
Despite Myskow’s experience in Fleet Street journalism, Wallis challenged her credibility, while host Mark Dolan defended Myskow's journalistic stature, emphasising her significant role in the industry.
