Former Royal Bodyguard Reveals Insight into Harry and William’s Childhood Rivalry

Ken Wharfe Highlights Harry's Popularity and Comparisons to Princess Diana Amid Ongoing Family Tensions

Ken Wharfe, former Protection Officer to Prince Harry, Prince William, and Princess Diana, has shed new light on the complex dynamic between the royal brothers during their childhood. In an exclusive interview, Wharfe described Harry as the "court jester" of the family, often outshining his older brother with his charm and sense of fun. According to Wharfe, this created a sense of jealousy in William, who was less popular as a child.

Wharfe also drew parallels between Harry and their late mother, Princess Diana, noting that both shared a natural ability to entertain and connect with people. He remarked that Diana, like Harry, thrived on being popular and enjoyed entertaining those around her.

After stepping down from royal duties and relocating to California in 2020, Harry, along with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, now lives in a Montecito mansion surrounded by A-list celebrities. Before Megxit, Harry had enjoyed significant popularity in the UK, even surpassing that of Queen Elizabeth at times.

However, Wharfe expressed doubts about Harry’s future role within the British monarchy, suggesting that while he still has much to offer, it remains uncertain whether he can find a way back into royal life. The rift between Harry and William, exacerbated by Harry and Meghan's public criticism of the Royal Family in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, appears far from resolved.

Despite the tensions, Wharfe praised Harry for his fun, mindful, and generous nature, qualities that remind many of his late mother, Diana.
