Sussexes express concerns over security, turning down offer to spend holidays at Althorp
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly declined a Christmas invitation from a family close to their hearts, opting not to return to the UK for the holiday season. The couple, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, had been invited to spend Christmas at Althorp, the ancestral home of Princess Diana's family, according to Express.co.uk.
Charles Spencer, the Duke of Sussex’s uncle, had extended the offer for the Montecito-based family to join them for the festive celebration. However, a source revealed that while Harry was eager for the Sussexes to spend time in the UK, security concerns remain a significant issue.
In a previous interview, Harry admitted that it still feels "dangerous" to bring his wife and children to the UK. He expressed genuine fears about the safety of his family, citing the potential threat posed by individuals acting on harmful rhetoric they may encounter. This concern has ultimately led to the decision to forego the Christmas invitation.
