Harry’s Portugal Property: A Potential Pathway to Reconnect with Royal Family

Royal Expert Highlights Key Reasons Behind Sussexes' Purchase

Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent acquisition of a luxurious home in Alentejo, Portugal, may be more than just a retreat—it could offer a potential bridge to reconnect with the Royal Family, according to royal expert Hugo Vickers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchased the property near their daughters’ residence following their visit to the area last September after the Invictus Games. Vickers suggests that Harry’s close relationship with his cousin could help strengthen family ties, particularly through their children.

With Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, growing up close in age to their daughters’ sons, Vickers believes these friendships could foster future bonds with Prince William and Catherine's children. He sees this as a potential opportunity for family reconciliation.

Vickers also remarked that Archie and Lilibet may one day come to realise their cousin’s destiny as King of England, an acknowledgment he finds bittersweet. He speculated that Harry, reflecting on his decision to step back from royal duties, might encourage his children to explore the opportunities he once had, making this proximity to family even more significant.

As Archie and Lilibet mature, they will ultimately form their own perspectives on their royal connections. Vickers emphasised that often the next generation seeks to mend family divides, underscoring the importance of keeping communication channels open.

Furthermore, Vickers highlighted the significant role their daughters continue to play in Harry’s life, making this home a potential symbol of bridging past and future ties.
