Former New Zealand Prime Minister honoured at Windsor Castle, reflects on her bond with William
Prince William received warm appreciation from former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern after he presented her with the Dame Grand Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. Ardern expressed that it was “particularly special” to receive the honour from William, with whom she shares a close working relationship through their collaboration on the Earthshot Prize.
At the ceremony, Ardern, wearing a traditional Maori Korowai cloak, was recognised for her significant contributions. William took to Instagram to congratulate her, describing her as a “friend” and “extraordinary advocate for the environment.”
Ardern, humbled by the recognition, reflected on her time as Prime Minister, acknowledging the collective efforts of the people of New Zealand over the past five years, adding, “This honour is a way to say thank you to my family, colleagues, and all those who supported me in the most rewarding role of my life.”
