King Charles and Queen Camilla officially concluded their tour of Australia on Tuesday, moving on to their next destination, Samoa. Following a whirlwind three days of royal engagements, Buckingham Palace shared a farewell message celebrating their time in Australia.
A video compilation of highlights was posted on the royal family’s official social media, accompanied by a warm message: “Farewell Australia 👋 It was a spectacular end to Their Majesties’ visit at the iconic Sydney Opera House 🤩. Thank you to all who came out to show their support – and for so many special memories.”
The clip featured Charles and Camilla greeting the crowds at the Sydney Opera House, shaking hands and engaging with the public, including delighted children. Despite headlines around a protest by Senator Lidia Thorpe in Canberra earlier in the week, the tour concluded on a high note.
This marked the first international tour for King Charles and Queen Camilla since Charles’ recent health challenges, as well as his first visit to Australia as reigning monarch.
