King Charles Forms Close Bond with Step-Grandchildren While Missing Archie and Lilibet

Step-grandchildren give King Charles a sweet title as he reflects on limited time with his US-based family

King Charles has formed a strong bond with his step-grandchildren, Lola and Freddy, while missing a closer relationship with his Sussex grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla’s son, shared a heartwarming glimpse into the King’s relationship with his step-grandchildren, revealing that they affectionately call him "Uppa." Tom explained that his children, Lola (17) and Freddy (14), have grown up with King Charles and view him as a beloved figure in their lives. "They’ve grown up with this man that they all love and think is wonderful," Tom shared, adding that the King is just "Uppa" to them.

Despite this sweet connection with his step-family, King Charles has reportedly taken steps to strengthen his relationship with his US-based grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the royal family, the King has only met Archie and Lilibet a few times.

A source told The Mirror that Charles is “absolutely committed” to being involved in all his grandchildren’s lives. Though distance and family tensions have made regular contact with Archie and Lilibet challenging, the King is determined to be present in their lives beyond occasional video calls, valuing family above all else.
