King Charles Keeps Personal Tradition Alive During Australian Visit

Warm Welcome from Australians Despite Busy Royal Schedule

While touring Australia, King Charles III upheld his treasured weekly ritual, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to personal traditions, even amidst royal obligations.

Despite his packed schedule, the King made time for this meaningful routine. At a luncheon held in his honour, His Majesty did not linger, offering an hourglass to those gathered, symbolising the fleeting nature of time and encouraging “brevity.” He departed before the first course was served.

Earlier, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a service at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in North Sydney. This marked their first public appearance since landing in Australia, where the King was greeted warmly by locals. However, outside the church, protesters held banners with messages such as “Empire built on genocide” and “Decolonise.”

The King’s six-day visit has been carefully designed to avoid overexerting him due to his ongoing cancer treatment, yet his dedication to duty remains clear as he continues his tour.
