Monarch hints at future reunion with estranged son amid efforts to restore family unity
King Charles has dropped a significant hint of reconciliation with his estranged son Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle. According to royal commentators, the monarch’s recent actions towards his brother, Prince Andrew, may signal a possible path for Harry and Meghan to rejoin the royal family.
Despite Prince Andrew’s tarnished reputation due to his alleged involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, King Charles has continued to include him in major family events, presenting a united public front. This gesture, royal expert Tom Sykes explained, could also serve as a template for repairing the relationship with Harry and Meghan.
Speaking to The Daily Beast, Sykes revealed, "A family friend of the King’s said that it was clear there had been a willingness to bring Andrew in from the cold, and, intriguingly, hinted that it could be a model for future reconciliation with his son."
King Charles, who prioritises the unity of the monarchy, is believed to be sending a message to Harry and Meghan that they, too, have a place in the royal family, despite the rift caused by their departure and public criticisms.
