Monarch extends condolences and praise for emergency responders following Hurricane Helene
King Charles has expressed deep sympathy and condolences to former US President Joe Biden and the people of the United States in the wake of the devastating Hurricane Helene, which ravaged parts of Florida and other regions. In a message shared via the British Embassy on October 4th, the King conveyed his sorrow over the tragic loss of life caused by the powerful storm.
“As the clean-up from devastating Hurricane Helene continues, King Charles has sent a message of condolence to President Joe Biden expressing his sadness and sympathy for the tragic loss of life,” the statement read. The King also commended the bravery and dedication of emergency responders, recognising their efforts during incredibly challenging circumstances.
Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm, struck Florida on September 26th, causing severe damage and claiming the lives of at least 200 people. The southeastern Appalachians were particularly hard hit by record-breaking floods, and rescue teams continue to work tirelessly as hundreds remain missing.
