Monarch expresses deep sympathy following deadly hurricane in Southeast US
King Charles III has issued an emotional statement expressing his sorrow after learning of the tragic loss of life caused by a devastating hurricane in the southeastern United States, where his son Harry and Meghan Markle reside with their children.
The British Embassy in Washington shared the King's message on social media, stating: "King Charles has expressed his continued sympathy with the people of the Southeast United States in the wake of a second devastating hurricane, and commends the acts of courage, kindness, and support seen in our communities."
As the death toll rises to over 200, and thousands are left affected by the storm, the 75-year-old monarch, who is preparing for his upcoming visit to Australia on October 18, extended his condolences to those impacted by the destruction, particularly in North Carolina, which has been hit hardest by the disaster.
