Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Urged to Heal Royal Rift During Family’s Challenging Time

Calls for Reconciliation Grow as the Sussexes Face Scrutiny Amid Royal Family’s Struggles

Meghan Markle and the Duke of Sussex have been encouraged to take steps to repair their fractured relationship with the Royal Family during an "extremely difficult period" for the institution. Since relocating to California in mid-2020, the couple has faced backlash for leveraging their royal connections while being openly critical of the family in the UK.

Experts suggest that a positive gesture toward the Royal Family could be a crucial move in easing tensions. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams expressed concern that the upcoming paperback release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, could further strain relations, especially given the timing, coinciding with King Charles’s important trip to Samoa for CHOGM.

Fitzwilliams warned that Harry’s admission of having omitted 400 pages from the memoir as being “too toxic” leaves an unsettling possibility that these revelations could one day surface.

Despite this, the couple's charitable contributions, including Harry’s recent appearance at the WellChild Awards in London and his continued support for Sentebale, have been widely acknowledged. However, the royal commentator highlighted ongoing concerns, noting the unpredictability in the Sussexes’ public approach to the Royal Family.

With the institution navigating a period marked by personal struggles for key members, Fitzwilliams urged, "If they truly believe in their message of 'joy', they should consider making a positive statement about the Royal Family. It could be a significant step toward reconciliation."
